DCBC Christmas Dinner Bragg Creek November 25

Dear DCBC member,

We would like to invite you to our annual Christmas Dinner. This year we are organizing the dinner in the Christmas picture perfect hamlet of Bragg Creek, just 25 minutes west of the city.

Our hosts at The CountryWood Retreat & Conference Centre will treat us to a traditional Turkey dinner with all the fixings. Our hosts can accommodate most dietary restrictions so if you have any concerns about that, please let the organizer (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) know.

The evening will start at 5:30pm with drinks and mingling.

The tickets ($55 for members and $60 for non-members) include one alcoholic beverage per person, drink tickets will be available beyond that. All non-alcoholic beverages (pop, juice, water, coffee and tea) will be free.

This event is open only to members of the Dutch Canadian Business Club of Calgary and their partners. You can buy your tickets with this link.

For those concerned about driving outside the city in the winter months, we will work on organizing carpooling to help with that. We will send information out about that closer to the event.

We hope to see you on Saturday November 25th.

Letter from the President Fall 2017

October 2017

Dear DCBC members,

Welcome to a new DCBC season. Since the AGM in September I am proud to be your new President. For those of you who missed the AGM, my name is Eduard Spelier, I was born in Middelburg in 1970, grew up in Goes, went to university in Eindhoven and I emigrated to Canada in 2006 with my wife Lya and our son Yannick. I work as an independent IT contractor and I have been at Husky Energy for the last 4 years. My speciality are Microsoft SharePoint implementations and customizations.

Besides myself the 2017-2018 board consists of:

  • Paul Pols - Vice President
  • Paul Verhaegh  - Treasurer
  • Sebastiaan Maassen  - Secretary, Director of Communications & Social Media
  • Remco Kleinlugtenbelt - Membership Director
  • Helen  - Past President

We would like to thank the departing board members for their hard work and dedication to the club:

  • Reinier Deurwaarder  - Vice President
  • Sian de Vries  - Secretary
  • Martin Gerlings - Treasurer
  • Yvette Geerlings  - Events Director

At the AGM it was decided that the 2017-2018 membership fee will be $100 per member. Members over 65 years of age are allowed to claim a $25 discount. Our Treasurer Paul will send out the invoices for the membership fees soon.

We are looking forward to an exciting year with lots of new events but also the ones you have come to expect of the DCBC. Our first event on October 19th had to be changed because of illness of the presenter so we’ll now meet for drinks and a bite (at your own expense) at Bridgette Bar (739 10 Ave SW) starting at 5:30 PM. Come and meet your new board!

On Saturday November 25th we will host the yearly Christmas Dinner in Bragg Creek, more information will follow soon about this event.

Best regards,

Eduard Spelier
